Climbing Mt. Leviticus. A series of 8 sermons.

If Moses left the nation when he died with just the Pentateuch, there must have been everything a godly Israelite from that moment on would need for salvation contained therein - if we expect to meet such in heaven.

So I sought to find at least the germ of the jewels of the rest of scripture within those first five books.

I have been almost exclusively pondering those books for some years.  The more I re-read them, the more I discovered.

Ideas like "that was all they had to go on" can be applied to successive generations ever since the word "written" appeared in Gen. 5:1.

As Jesus says "But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked."

Well, they may not have much to go on by our standards, but enough it would seem.  I suppose I was also encouraged with contemporary stories of Christians thirsting for God's word and only being able to obtain incomplete texts to feed their hunger.
