The Work of Jesus (4 messages)
A short series on the person & work of Jesus. In these four messages, we place ourselves in first century Judea. The Romans march the streets, the Jewish leaders control the business of worship and a man from Nazareth steps forward to announce the Kingdom of God has arrived.
In these four messages we look at the wilderness testing of our Lord; his preaching of the good news of the kingdom; the reaction of John the Baptist, his forerunner and the authority & power which was evident in everything he said & did.
It is not a comprehensive series; just four snapshots of the life of Jesus in the most tumultuous era in history.
As the people searched for a redeemer to free them from the shackles of Roman occupation, they fell into several classes; the zealots, the Essenes, the Pharisees, the Sadducees or perhaps simply God fearers.
However, a remnant stood by faithfully waiting for God to deliver on his promises. Join us as we open the pages of Luke's gospel and enter their world.
